We are a registered charity, created in 2001 by the locals and regulars of the Royal Oak Inn, Staffhurst Wood.
Financial support goes to individuals, groups or good causes within the area. Managed entirely by volunteers, every penny donated is used to support people in need, typically within a 15 mile radius of the pub.
The application process is simple - a letter of request, supported if necessary by a medical recommendation, external estimates or references. The Committee can make a funding decision very swiftly if required - there are no deadlines or application forms to complete.
The causes supported vary enormously. We have provided financial assistance for parents of children with disabilities to enable them to participate in holiday activities or to purchase essential equipment to make their lives more comfortable.
Through the Citizens Advice Bureau or Tandridge Social Services, we also support the disadvantaged of our community by providing assistance with purchases of essential items to help create a quality of life when no other support is available.
All our funding is aimed at specific, tangible items. ROCF is able to purchase capital equipment and to loan it to appropriate people or organisations. For example, we have a number of wheelchairs for this purpose.
